Naturalist’s Journal

Naturalist’s Journal

Welcome all! I am happy to be back again with another Design Team Project for Mini Album Makers challenge blog. I have been on a kick for some time on those small journals nature lovers use in the field. I’ll probably stay on this kick for the rest of my life since the subject can take so many paths.

For this journal I have, once again, used the tissue technique. This time I used a lovely image from Graphics Fairy for the cover. It’s an old marbleized book with scruffy aging all over. I printed it onto tissue paper (after creating a custom sized print file via PicMonkey) then carefully glued it to my chipboard covers. For some of the signature pages I used prints from Ephemera’s Garden. For the clasp I used leather strips and an antique key. The book label plate was cut from a Kaisercraft die. Have a browse through the step-out below and let me know what you think!

Wow, this is stunning, I love everything about it and can’t believe it’s not actually an old book! I always get in such a mess with tissue paper and glue, but you’ve inspired me to have a go!
