Character Constructions Journal

Hi again and thanks for coming over to take a squint at my album for this month on Mini Album Makers! This Month our sponsor is the wonderful Catherine Moore, creator of Character Constructions. I have been enjoying her stamps and dies for years and thought this is a good excuse for pulling some out to play.

Catherine also has some fabulous artist papers, some of which I’ve used in this journal. I started with a plain 8 1/2 x 11″ chip board. Cut in half, this will make my covers. Before cutting it I use my Xyron to add adhesive to the papers and applied a sheet to each side of the chipboard. I created several inner pages this same way to add stability.

I also used various other double sided papers to create enough pages to fill the book. Some I left blank and some I embellished. I trimmed all the inner sheets by 1/4″ all around to sit nicely within the covers. This book is meant to collect things so I left plenty of room for that. I then used my Cinch to bind the whole thing.

Heather, your journal is so beautiful, each page is wonderfully ‘aged’, I could almost believe this was found in the attic, having lain there for many years! I can see that I need to investigate Catherine’s stamps – and those incredibly beautiful papers. Thank you for sharing the slider too, it was lovely looking at those wonderful pages. Anne xx

A delightful and beautiful journal Heather. Such beautiful papers and gorgeous stamps really used to their best. Your collaged pages are stunning and yes like Anne felt that you could believe that this had been lying in an attic for years. Great idea for using the slider – fabulous photos. Jennie x
