As promised, here is another mini album. For this one I used the beautiful Graphic 45 Rare Oddity papers and embellishments. This is cut using Eileen Hull’s passport journal die. The die cuts both the album covers as well as the signature sheets. I used heavy black chipboard which I pre-covered with the G45 papers (thank you Xyron!). That way the die cut cleanly through all layers for a nice finish.
I used Karen Burniston’s Twist Panel Pop-up die to add a popup space for photos to the front inside panel. Magnets hold the panel secure when closed. Before I started adding embellishments I painted the inside covers black. Then I painted a layer of crackle medium. After that fully dried and crackled, I wiped Deco Art white antiquing creme and buffed the whole thing. Click to enlarge and you can see the front inside cover crackle.
Each signature has two double sheets (cut with the EH die) which makes 8 pages per signature. I added pockets and tuck places throughout, some with magnets.
I punched a hole in the back cover and inserted an elastic band closure. I assembled the signatures and covers with waxed linen cording, pulled through to the spine where I attached charms for a finishing touch. Again this was such fun to make! The dies really take the guesswork out and allow for a beautiful finish.
Thanks for visiting! Once again I’m sharing on the Mini Album Makers Challenge Blog!
